ABOUT THE ARTIST

Tauby (TOH-bee) Mintz (they/them) is a Cyanotype Artist and Creative based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Tauby first started experimenting with cyanotypes during a summer program at California College of the Arts over 10 years ago. They were drawn to the uniqueness of the medium, and the way Cyanotyping seemed to provide a new perspective on every subject. Now, Tauby loves creating prints using anything from foraged plants to lifeless insects to thrifted glass plates and bowls.

Tauby hopes to inspire even those who insist on proclaiming that they are "NOT artistic". Tauby leads workshops and classes throughout the Twin Cities to teach about a photographic process that traces back to 1842 and how it can still serve us today. With their workshops, demonstrations, and markets, Tauby hopes to increase access to artistic mediums and spread the word about the cyanotype process.
